History
The present temple was built in the 18th century by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao (Nana Saheb) in black basalt.
Architecture
Ornate Nagara-style temple in black stone with finely carved mandapas.

The lingam here is distinctive for its three faces representing Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
